Some kids are destined for greatness. Kaden was not one of those kids. Shut in a cardboard box and thrown into a sewer, Kaden was destined to die mere hours after being born. At least he was... until fate intervened. I know what you're thinking, Batman heard the infant's cries and swung to the rescue, his story touches the hearts of millions and he gets adopted by a rich family to live the rest of his life in the lap of luxury. Yeah... reality is a bitch sometimes, cause that's definitely not how it went down. No caped crusaders working this particular street in Gotham tonight. Instead, Kaden was found by Dr Anton Newark.

If there's one person you don't want to find an abandoned, unregistered, baby, its a mad scientist with a lack of funding. Unfortunately for Kaden, that is exactly the kind of person who fished him out of that drain. Newark was the real deal, a bonafide genius. Sadly, he was also a full blown psychopath. The thought of handing baby Kaden over to the police, or dropping him off at an orphanage doorstep to avoid the paperwork, never even crossed his mind. All the Doctor saw was a free test subject that no one would miss.

Whisking the baby back to his lab, Newark extracted stem cells from the boy and the still attached umbilical cord, putting the placenta into storage. His research was in the field of nanites, in the past having personally worked on some impressive breakthroughs. However his professional career took a dive as he became more and more fixated on the idea of organic nanites. Nanites that, by all definitions of the term, were alive. And the best way Newark believed to achieve this goal was to combine the nanites with human DNA.

If the idea of creating life from inorganic machines wasn't enough to get him shunned by the scientific community, the planned human experimentation definitely was. They turned their back on his genius. And in doing so brought out his inner madness. There is nothing more damaging for a genius than to have your intelligence ignored. And sadly for Kaden, Newark saw him as nothing more than a tool with which to show the world they were wrong, and get his revenge.

One of the cells formerly home to a pig was Kaden's whole world. Sealed in and left to his own devices unless Newark came in for more samples, the infant grew into a lonely and underdeveloped child. Truely, nothing more than a lab animal, Newark never investing time into teaching him to talk or any behavioural skills. But that all changed shortly after his 7th birthday. The years of research had finally yielded results! Newark had done it. He had created organic nanites. Now all they needed was a host. And who better to test it on than the feral boy in the basement?

The injection was the single most painful experiance in Kaden's life... And he had endured Newark extracting spinal fluid and bone marrow with no anesthetic in the past. The nanites pumped through his body, bonding with each cell they came across, before creating a replacement nanite to take over the next cell along. By the end of the day Kaden's entire being had been converted into a human-nanite hybrid. That's when the real work began.

The next few years were an endless series of continuous experiments. Newark wanted to know the full extent of Kaden’s new abilities, and so threw the boy into countless life and death situations to see if his enhancements allowed him to survive. Poisoned, gassed, shocked, burned, drowned, dismantled. Newark did it all in the name of science, to prove his creation had exceeded even his wildest dreams of its potential. And Kaden, even with his new body, was still too young and feral to even consider escape. The only world he knew was Anton, as far as his little mind could understand it, there was nothing else. So why would he run?

However, as the years passed, Kaden eventually began to learn. The limited contact he had with Newark allowed him to form a basic understanding of the English language.

Thanks to the work of Dr Anton Newark, every cell in Kaden’s body has been replaced by a organic nanites. This has given Kaden a large range of new abilities.

Regeneration - Since the nanites are able to self replicate, any damaged or destroyed nanites are quickly replaced by new ones. This means anything from slight scratches or losing entire limbs can be repaired in a matter of minutes. So long as a single nanite remains, Kaden will always be able to fully recover.

Shapeshifting - Kaden has some degree of control over the nanites in his body, and as such he can direct them with a will. Sometimes he uses this ability to enhance his durability, sending more nanites to his skin. More noticeably, he can alter the design and function of his limbs, increasing his strength by altering his arms, or his speed by redesigning his legs. And most noticeably of all, he can turn any part of his body into a canon, but finds changing his arms and legs the easiest.

Incinerator Canons - Kaden’s primary weapons. He is able to turn any part of his body, but most often his forearms, into a canon (or series thereof, depending on how much damage needs to be done). These canons can fire immense blasts of flames and heat great distances, or produce gentle warm breezes to dry his hair after a shower.

In terms of how exactly they work, in the heart of each canon, a cluster of nanites form a small reactor. The size of this reactor depends on the level of firepower needed, but once it is formed, Kaden then detonates it. The reinforced nanites lining the inside of the canon direct the resulting explosion outwards, creating the large beams of fire Kaden uses to fight. Naturally, the bigger the explosion needed, the larger the reactor needed. In a typical fight Kaden creates reactors about a centimeter wide to produce blasts up to 10 feet long. To level a building requires an inch. To destroy a city block would take a golf ball. As he only has so much room inside his body, instead of creating a beach ball on his shoulder, Kaden instead opts to produce the same amount of destruction with a series of canons and reactors, instead of a single large one. When desiring maximum destruction Kaden usually turns his entire arms all the way up to his shoulder into a massive series of canons.

Sensors - As a mechanical hybrid, Kaden does have access to some of the perks of being an android, foremost among which is inbuilt sensors.
